• ECF (elemental chlorine free): These are papers where the pulp has been bleached without elemental chlorine but with chlorine compounds.
• TCF (total chlorine free): This method uses pulp that has been bleached without elemental chlorine or chlorine compounds to produce the paper. Instead, oxygen compounds are used for this bleaching process.

• CIE Whiteness: Measures the reflectivity of white light, with a higher value indicating a whiter paper.

• Finishing: Processes such as cellophaning make the paper more durable or protect it.
