A high-level filter usually costs more than a cheap one. To waste such filters used for protection from dust sounds like a costly idea. But, as an industrial object, the air can contain dust, mist, and toxic gas at the same time. An insert filter helps to deal with these hazards. It stops solid and liquid non-volatile particles. But a toxic gas, vapours, ammonia, etc., will get through to be stopped by the main filter. The purpose of these additional filters is to prolong the lifetime of filters inside a mask.

3M 5925 particle insert filters have a P2R level of protection. They are perfect for a dusty environment. They also can stop particles of a water or oil-based mist. Insert filters are not recommended for use without other filters. Before use, read the instructions on limitations and ways of fitting. These filters are compatible with a high range of 3M respirator half-masks and full masks. Use of these filters is much more advisable because these inserts prolong the lifetime of the high-level filters under them. Use them to get a high-level combination of protection.
