The Dutch national railway chooses Lyreco as sustainable partner

For their office supplies, NS (Nederlandse Spoorwegen), the Dutch national railway, chose Lyreco as a recognized supplier because of its sustainable vision and approach in the field of workplace solutions.

The years of cooperation with Lyreco have made an important contribution to NS in the following areas:

When purchasing products, NS take a critical look at the composition of products, the possibilities for reuse, but also the necessity of them and the existence of more sustainable alternatives. They also take into account the way in which the products arrive at our locations; the NS have been transporting passengers climate neutral since 2018 and they aim at being climate neutral from 2050 onwards, thereby emitting a megaton less CO₂ every year. As Lyreco strives for CO2 emission reductions and as all our deliveries to our locations throughout the Netherlands are CO₂-neutral, we represent a perfect answer to NS needs in that field.
 
In 2020, the first steps towards circularity were taken at Lyreco's initiative; in addition to the sustainability of the products, the circular characteristics of a product are now also considered. When collecting small office equipment, Lyreco ensures that as many products as possible are recycled and the raw materials are returned to producers for new products. These initiatives therefore fit perfectly into the circular policy of NS.
